The public and collaborative nature of The Site

User accounts and authorship
The Site requires the users to register and provide information as prompted by the Registration Form. All entries posted by the users are linked to their profile which contains the information derived from the Registration Page, except the email address and the date of birth. Those wishing to make comments on the contents are required to first login. The name of those commenting on the contents will be shown. Users that do register are identified by their chosen username. Users select a password, which is confidential and used to verify the integrity of their account. Except insofar as it may be required by law, no person should disclose, or knowingly expose, either user passwords and/or cookies generated to identify a user. The user accounts can be removed in terms of the Terms Of Use of The Site. It may not be possible for a username to be changed.
E.Mail, date of Birth and Address not to be shown:
While filling up the Registration Form, you are asked to provide many things including your E- mail, Date of Birth and Address. None of this information would be disclosed. The site would use your E –mail to send you Newsletters and occasional mails. The Site will not sell your E– mail to any third party. You can discontinue the receipt of such Newsletters and mails by sending a mail at info@globalindianheritage.com. This mail would take effect with in 90 days from the date of receipt. Your Date of Birth also would not be disclosed nor sold to anybody. The Site collects this information for internal purposes and to send you E – mail on your birth day. Your Address would not be shown or sold and would be used by The Site for official purposes only.
Referrel Mail not to be stored and shown:
While filling up the Registration Form you are required to provide two referrel E-mails of your friends and acquaintances. The Site would send only a single E-mail from your side informing them that you have joined it. No other E-mail would be sent on those addresses by The Site and The Site does not store those E-mail IDs in its data base. The text of the mails sent to these IDs is also mentioned on the Registration Form.
Invite Page:
There is an Invite Page on The Site. You can help The Site by inviting as many of your friends as possible (five at one time) to join it. The text of the mail is mentioned on the Invite Page. The Site would not store the E –mail IDs to whom you sent the mail. Moreover, the mails sent on your behalf would contain your E-mail ID.
IP and other technical information
When a visitor requests or reads a page, or sends email to The Site ‘s server, no more information is collected than is typically collected by web sites. The Site may keep raw logs of such transactions, but these will not be published or used to track the legitimate users.
Cookies
The Site uses cookies (a piece of data stored on the user's computer) and other technologies to provide you with a quality experience and to learn how you use its services so that it can continually innovate to improve its services.
Reading information
No more information on users and other visitors reading pages is collected than is typically collected in server logs by web sites. Aside from the above raw log data collected for general purposes, page visits do not expose a visitor's identity publicly. Sampled raw log data may include the IP address of any user, but it is not reproduced publicly.
Deletion of matter
The content posted by the users can be edited but not deleted. The previous version is not retained by The Site. The article links posted by the users can be deleted.
Notification of Changes:
The Site will occasionally update its Privacy Policy. If there are any material changes , it will notify via email and provide you the opportunity to opt-out prior to any substantial change that has been taken. The Site encourages you to periodically review its privacy policy to be informed of how it is committed to protecting your privacy.
Purpose of the collection of private information:
The Site limits the collection of personally identifiable user data to purposes which serve the well-being of its contents, including but not limited to the following:
1. To enhance the public accountability of the Contents. 3.To solve technical problems. Log data may be examined by developers in the course of solving technical problems.
